The heart-pounding excitement of skyrunning continues as the Gorges du Tarn Skyrace prepares to challenge athletes on some of the most breathtaking terrain in the world. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Tarn Gorges in France, the adrenaline-fueled event is the fourth stage of the Merrell Skyrunner® World Series and will be broadcast LIVE to fans all over the world. 

With its rugged cliffs, winding trails, and panoramic views, the Gorges du Tarn Skyrace promises an unforgettable experience for both participants and spectators alike. During the 24 km route with 1,800 meters of elevation gain, athletes will push their limits as they ascend steep inclines, navigate technical descents, and conquer elevation gains that test the strongest of competitors.

The Gorges du Tarn Skyrace offers multiple race distances to accommodate participants of all skill levels. From the grueling Vertical Kilometer to the challenging Ultra, there’s a race for every runner seeking the ultimate skyrunning experience. Along the way, participants will be treated to unparalleled views of the Tarn Gorges, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning beauty and geological significance.

As part of the Merrell Skyrunner® World Series, the Gorges du Tarn Skyrace attracts top athletes from around the globe, each vying for glory and the chance to earn valuable points in the series standings as well as points towards the U23 ranking. With its demanding course and competitive field, the event promises high drama and fierce competition from start to finish.

The leading women in the elite field include French athletes, Lucille Germain (team Sidas Matryx), Noemie Vachon (team Brooks), Olivia Magnone (team Escolps d’Azun) and the reigning champion, Mathilde Sagnes (team Merrell); Spain’s Oihana Kotazar (team Salomon), Ikram Rharsalla (team Millet) and Julia Font (team Brooks); Johanna Gelfgren of Sweden (team Hoka); Adriana Fenes of Andorra (team FAM); and Nichola Jackson of Great Britain (team Inov); as well as rising stars in the U23 ranking, Carrodilla Cabestre (team La Sportiva) and Alba de Mendiolagoitia Díaz, both of Spain.

The men’s field features big names including Roberto Delorenzi of Switzerland (team Brooks), Antonio Martinez of Spain (team Asics), Alejandro Forcades of Spain (team Normal), Sebastien Poesy of France (team Brooks), Lorenzo Beltrami of Italy (team Scarpa), Shoma Otagiri of Japan (team Merrell), Billy Cartwright of Great Britain (team Inov8) and Spanish rising stars in the under 23 category, Miguel Benitz (team Asics) and Jan Torella (team Salomon).
