The Calamorro Skyrace® is a fast, technical and physically demanding race in the Skyrunner World Series, set high above the coastal town of Benalmádena in southern Spain. This loop-format Skyrace® blends steep limestone ascents, exposed ridgelines and rapid technical descents across the rugged Sierra de Mijas. With sweeping views of the Mediterranean and a vibrant athlete atmosphere, it attracts elite runners and U23 competitors looking for one of the sharpest tests in the early season.
The Calamorro Skyrace® loop takes athletes into the rugged Sierra de Mijas mountain range, delivering steep climbs, jagged limestone terrain and dramatic ridge running above the Mediterranean Sea.
The route features sharp rocky ascents, exposed sections with fast-changing wind conditions and rapid technical descents that demand confidence and precision. Its combination of heat, elevation changes and technical terrain makes it one of the most explosive and challenging courses in the series.
Most athletes travel to Málaga before making a short transfer to Benalmádena, which sits along the Costa del Sol with excellent transport links.
Málaga Airport (AGP) – Closest, 15–20 minute transfer
Gibraltar Airport (GIB) – Regional alternative
Seville Airport (SVQ) – Larger hub around 2 hours away
