About MAGA Skymarathon

MAGA Skymarathon takes runners into the mountains of Val Serina, in the province of Bergamo, northern Italy. Its name comes from the four peaks that define the route: Menna, Arera, Grem and Alben.

Covering approximately 39 km with 3,000 m of ascent, the race combines steep climbs, rocky ridgelines and demanding descents. The 2026 edition took place on 5 September, bringing the Merrell Skyrunner® World Series to this spectacular corner of the Italian mountains.

Course Profile & Technical Terrain

The route starts in Zorzone, a village within the municipality of Oltre il Colle. Runners climb towards Menna before continuing across the mountain terrain that gives MAGA its distinctive character.

Mountain paths, steep grass slopes, rocks and scree demand confident footwork throughout. The ridgeline sections include fixed ropes, with mountain rescue personnel and guides supporting athletes through the more exposed passages. Course description

The four summits create a course built around repeated climbing and descending. Success requires endurance, controlled pacing and the ability to move efficiently over technical ground. Discover the route and check the latest course information on the official MAGA Skymarathon website.
