Mt. Awa Skyrace takes athletes into the rugged mountain terrain surrounding Mount Awagatake in Niigata Prefecture, Japan.
The race covers approximately 33 km with 2,400 metres of ascent, combining steep climbing, exposed mountain trails and sections that can still hold significant snow. Mount Awagatake reaches 1,293 metres and provides a distinctive setting for one of Japan’s most technical skyrunning races.
