The Skyrace® des Matheysins is a signature French race in the Skyrunner World Series, held in the dramatic mountain terrain surrounding St Honoré. Known for steep gradients, rocky technical passages and spectacular views across the Matheysine Plateau and the Écrins massif, this loop-format Skyrace® is a dynamic mix of fast alpine running and demanding climbs. It attracts elite skyrunners and ambitious mountain athletes looking for a powerful early-season challenge.
The Skyrace® des Matheysins climbs steeply from St Honoré into rugged alpine terrain, reaching a high point of 2,350 m as athletes traverse exposed ridgelines overlooking the French Alps.
The loop combines fast runnable sections through forest with technical rocky climbs and sharp, high-altitude traverses. Constant elevation change and varied ground create a race that demands agility, strength and mountain awareness from start to finish.
