The Sobrescobio Skyrace® is the grand U23 Final of the Skyrunner World Series, held in the wild and rugged Redes Natural Park in northern Spain. This loop-format Skyrace® blends steep forest climbs, rocky terrain and sweeping ridge views over the Asturias mountains. With 2,100 m+ of ascent packed into 30 km, the race is fast, technical and known for its dramatic autumn conditions — a fitting finale for the U23 season.
The Sobrescobio Skyrace® climbs through dense Asturias woodland before emerging onto exposed limestone ridges overlooking Redes Natural Park.
The loop combines steep, sustained climbs with technical singletrack and rapid descents through forest and rocky terrain. Autumn weather adds an unpredictable layer, with mist, rain and wind all possible across the high sections. The course demands power, precision and full focus — ideal for a season-ending championship.
Rio Seco sits within Asturias and is accessible via regional airports with easy transfers toward Redes Natural Park.
Asturias Airport (OVD) – Closest main airport
Santander Airport (SDR) – Additional northern Spain option
Bilbao Airport (BIO) – Major international choice further east
Accommodation is available across the region, with the most convenient stays in Rio Seco, Pola de Laviana and Caso, all providing quick access to the race start and Redes Natural Park’s trail network.
