The Monte Zerbion Skyrace® is a steep, fast and spectacular alpine challenge in the Skyrunner World Series, rising directly above the town of Châtillon in Italy’s Aosta Valley. This loop-format race features rocky ascents, grassy ridgelines and sweeping panoramic views across the valley. With 2,200 m+ of climbing over 22 km, the race is known for its intense elevation gain, high-energy terrain changes and iconic summit push to the Monte Zerbion cross.
The Monte Zerbion Skyrace® climbs sharply from Châtillon toward the summit of Monte Zerbion, following a mix of steep forest paths, rocky alpine terrain and fast grassy slopes.
The route rises quickly into exposed ridgelines with incredible views of the Aosta Valley and surrounding peaks. The steep ascent to the Zerbion summit cross is followed by a rapid, technical descent, making the course a balanced but intense challenge that rewards strength, footwork and mountain agility.
Châtillon is easy to access from major northern Italian airports, with straightforward transfers into the Aosta Valley.
