THE SKYRUNNER® VIRTUAL SERIES FAQ

As announced, all races of the 2020 Skyrunner® World Series held before July have been postponed, but that won’t stop skyrunners all over the world from coming together to race. From now until June, athletes and fans can take part in the Skyrunner® Virtual Series and celebrate many iconic skyraces by racing them from home.

Here’s everything you need to know about getting involved:

1. What is the Skyrunner® Virtual Series?

Connect and come together with skyrunners all over the world. Take part in the Skyrunner® Virtual Series by completing 45 minutes of running, or any sporting activity – indoor or outdoor – on the same date as six specially-selected races of the circuit that have been canceled or postponed. Register online and tune in to a live streaming or be featured alongside elite athletes.

2. How do I take part in a race of the Skyrunner® Virtual circuit?

Register

  • Register for the challenge, for free here.
  • Print your bib and add the start number that will be assigned to you on the start list, updated and published every evening at 9pm.
  • As a RUNNER, you must run for the specified time or distance and upload your running data after the race for a chance to win a pair of shoes from Merrell 👟
  • POPULAR category entrants must share their home workout on social media for the chance to win a shirt from Compressport 🎽
  • Tune in to a live streaming on facebook and YouTube of each race to watch and interact with your favourite skyrunners and even be featured yourself

Print bib

At the end of the registration form, you will receive a link where you can download a PDF of each race’s bib. Fill in your name and number and print the bib so that it’s ready to be worn for the virtual race – see example below. You can also create your own bib.

4. How can I follow the race live?

There will be a live and interactive broadcast, with moderation, of each race streamed on the Skyrunning channels. The live program gives spectators and fellow runners a chance to watch and connect with the elite field also participating in the virtual circuit.

For each race, members of the public will be selected to be featured in the live broadcast. If you would like to get involved, alongside the elite skyrunners, send an email with your details and some information on how you will take part and why you want to be featured to callme@skmn.ch one day prior to the race.

5. What can I win and how?

Beyond the reward of solidarity spirit and the feeling of togetherness earned from taking part in the virtual circuit, there will be prizes up for grabs from the Skyrunner® World Series’ official suppliers, including shoes from the latest Merrell “Sky” product range and items from Compressport.
